Space On Earth

Refugee kids send a
desperate outcry for help
into the outer space

The Rohingya plight is the world's fastest growing refugee crisis. Since 2017, over 700,000 Rohingya have fled the ethnic cleansing in Myanmar, and sought shelter in neighbouring Bangladesh. Even to the present, many of them are still living in camps and haven’t found a place that they can call home. Among them, around 500,000 are children.

To draw worldwide attention to this heart-wrenching topic, we helped these disappointed children to ask for help from somewhere else, as they can find no space on the Earth.

Bringing the cause to European Parliament

To keep the Rohingya Crisis on the agenda of policy makers, BRAC hosted an exhibition at the European Parliament building in Brussels on 7th-8th January 2019, which featured the #SpaceOnEarth campaign, along with the artwork from British artist Hannah Rose Thomas. The exhibition sparked discussions among Members of European Parliament (MEP).
